Statement of Faith
Our sole authority for counsel given in this ministry is the Word of God, both Jesus Christ the Living Word of God and the Bible, the written Word of God. This written Word is comprised of 66 inerrant writings, which holy men of God penned as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.
We believe that there is only one God. We believe that while God is one in essence, He is three persons eternally existing in equal natures, referred to in Scripture as Father, Son and Spirit. The word for ‘One’ used of God is echad in Deuteronomy 6:4. This word can mean a single one or a compound unity, as in Adam and Eve, “becoming One flesh.” Man and Woman were made in the image of God. We believe the union of husband and wife is to be a picture of this compound unity of the Godhead.
We believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life, died in the place of all, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven where He is ministering on behalf of all believers, and will return visibly and gloriously at the appointed time.
These acts of Jesus on our behalf is what is called the Gospel. It is good news. Life transforming news!
We believe that man was God’s crowning act of creation. We believe that man is accountable to God for his attitudes, words and actions.
We believe that man is sinful from conception and so sins in his life. Both of these bring on him trouble in this life and the just judgment of God for eternal condemnation in hell.
We believe that man’s only hope for recovery from his condition of guilt and misery before God is found in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ. He is the eternal Son of God, born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit. We believe Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into heaven and His present life there as High Priest and Advocate for us.
We believe that sinful man must be given the heart of repentance and faith in order to turn from himself and sin and trust in Jesus Christ as His Lord and Savior.
We believe that every person who believes in the Lord Jesus Christ alone to represent him before God, not depending on any good found in himself, will be saved.
We believe that the grace of God that brings salvation teaches individuals to change from a self-pleasing, sinful life to a self-denying, godly life through Jesus Christ.
We believe that the word of God, as applied by the Holy Spirit, is sufficient to meet the need for change that exists in every sinner saved by grace. This is the Good news! The Gospel!
We believe that God works in this age primarily through local churches, containing gifts that Christ has given for the equipping of His people for the work of ministry.
We believe that every Christian has a living hope that goes beyond this life and is to be motivated toward purity in this life as he sets his mind and heart upon the Savior Who has promised to come again. Heaven is the final destiny of every believer and hell the final destiny of every unbeliever.
Our ideology on sex and “recovery”
After much thought on this topic I have come to the following conclusions:
Sex is a gift from God. It is to be enjoyed and exciting. We believe God created sex and this is a part of His good creation. He created sex to glorify Himself and so we believe that sex is to be practiced in the way that God has set for us in His word, in the heart of His agape love. We are pro sex for pleasure as well as pro-creation. We believe in the Love of God to be expressed in our sexuality. We believe that all forms of love are to be governed by agape love. So we support the Biblical concepts of love; passionate desire, love of friends, love of family, which are to be governed by agape love.
The philosophy of our ministry:
We do not desire to use the term sexual addiction. We believe that that when a person uses this term over and over they can get into a psychological suicide of sorts to no benefit. We believe that bad decisions are not necessarily a disease or addiction. We believe that we can get into bad patterns of living in many areas of life; sex is one of them. We believe we all have desires that go astray. We believe that they are decisions that we make. We believe we cannot blame “addiction,” for our problems. We attempt to use the term’s that are in the Bible: sexual immorality or lust. We believe that sexual immorality does not mean God is not pro-sex & pro-pleasure in sex. We believe that our focus in “recovery” should not be on pornography, but on understanding God better. So our groups are largely concerned with understanding God’s Word. We do not use the term, “my name is ________ and I am a sex addict.” We study the Bible together, confess to one another, and pray for each other and ourselves that the grace of God would change our hearts to be for His glory, and bring us to the place where we make better choices regarding our sexuality according to our beliefs. All people are in “recovery” for the sinful inclinations. So we do not like over stressing the word, recovery, in our meetings, which tend to ostracize those attending from those “good” people that do not need a meeting like ours.

The Gospel:
For I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. Romans 1:16
The good news is life transforming news. Therefore we seek in our groups to understand Jesus better and what this Gospel is. We do not focus on brain studies or how you can do more for Christ. The book of Colossians warns us not to believe in basic counsel like, “do not taste or touch.” Instead we are to abide in Christ by dying to our old man, so that the new man which is renewed in Christ shines through. We are to fix our eyes on Jesus. We believe it is the grace of God that brings salvation that teaching us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts (Titus 2:11-13)…looking unto Jesus.
The Gospel is the answer to our problems. Jesus said, “Abide in me.”
