We have three kinds of groups at R.L.M. Please look at our weekly calendar page here to attend.
We also make known the different groups in Tucson that we think would be beneficial to attend. Please call the churches where they meet for any current information or changes. We encourage you to participate in a group or two a week if you are struggling daily with acting out in lustful ways, especially if those ways are directly hurting yourself and your family.
An Advocacy group is one where you can expect a level of honesty. Confessions will happen at these groups. Please respect the confidentiality of others as they share. Confessions are not mandatory. Support is what you can expect from these groups. “Confess your sins one to another that you may be healed.” James 5:16
Groups like this are meant to build closeness and openness among other men or women, depending on the group. This is to help with that which has caused us issues in the first place. Namely, our self sufficiency. To break this, we attend these groups, learning to rely on God, and our fellow friends to help us gain the grace of God in overcoming unbridled lust. This is our hope. Our issues go deeper than porn and sex.
Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. Again, if two lie down together, they will keep warm; But how can one be warm alone? Though one may be overpowered by another, two can withstand him. And a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
It is important to note that these groups are peer support groups and not equivalent to clinical treatment.
