Some things to pray for

My blogs consist of a social critique of sorts;
in trying to bring topics back to a Biblical center.  They are not for little children as I to discuss sex, pornography and other mature topics.

BE PROPERLY MOTIVATED…Glory to God

Ask the Lord to give you a heart for His glory only. Seek His glory in your life and not your own. Many seek freedom for self righteous reasons and not the Lord’s glory only, and when we seek our glory, we end up back in bondage.

Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, But to Your name give glory, Because of Your mercy, Because of Your truth.

Psalm 115:1

DRINK FROM THE RIGHT WELL

Jesus offers us Living Water that will satisfy us. Those in bondage have been drinking from a broken cup that cannot satisfy. Ask Jesus to satisfy you with His Living Water!

You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.

Psalm 145:16

DRAG IT ALL INTO THE LIGHT

Sin thrives in secrecy. Bringing the sin into the light of Christ will remove the weight of the sin. Seek to confess your sins to God and to another, for His glory!

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

1 John 1:7

RELY ON THE CROSS

Oh, the power of the cross of Christ! We look only to the cross for healing! Nothing but the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins.

And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and above reproach in His sight – if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.

Colossians 1:21-23

RUN LIGHT

It is important that we “throw off” the weight of sin in our lives, by the grace of God in Christ Jesus. Seek the Lord for ways to cut off the areas of your life that has caused you to fall. This is called radical amputation!

If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out…

Mark 9:47

TURN AWAY

When we amputate sin we turn towards God’s pleasure! By turning we gain the fullness of joy that is found in the Lord! We run towards Jesus and gain it all by turning away from sexual immorality.

You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Psalm 16:11

WALK IN A NEW DIRECTION

By grace we desire to walk humbly with our God. We seek to be no longer walking in a proud way, but looking forward to a life in the wings of our merciful God.

For thus says the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, With him who has a contrite and humble spirit, To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

Isaiah 57:15

SEEK ACCOUNTABILITY

The grace of God is seen in having accountability partners to help us in our time of need. Accountability partners are to be those who walk in freedom from bondage, love the Lord, and desire His glory in their lives.

Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

ACCEPT PURE GRACE

Grace is the gift of God seen in Christ to save and sanctify (set us apart). Grace always moves us towards holiness of living. Accepting this grace gives us hope: “He who began the work in us will be faithful to complete it!”

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ

Titus 2:11-13

EXPECT TEMPTATION

By grace we are aware of the enemies plans and schemes and on high alert! We learn to use the Word of God which is the sword of the Spirit to quench all the attacks of our adversary.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9
