Creative Porn Writing in High School?

On this episode of the Better Pleasure Podcast by R.L. Ministries, Peter brought up a current article out of Ohio that really rocked the local mayors world. It concerned educators at the High School level that were contributing (allegedly) to child pornography. It had to do with a book that was distributed in the school that is supposed to help kids with their creative writing skills! Of course the mayor was shocked!

Here were some of creative writing projects in the book!

  • Write a story of a preacher that was caught in a sex sandal
  • Describe your favorite part of a male body using verbs
  • Choose how you will die
  • Write a x rated Disney scenario
  • A sexual fantasy that you would not want to share with your mom, then rewrite, so you can share it with her

Do you think this is an encouragement for child pornography by the educators? Peter makes the case that it is possibly sexual harassment. And Beau get’s into the discussion from there! It is interesting to figure out what the educators where thinking when handing out the book. Is sex and porn so normalized that educators assume that High School students would be comfortable and even knowledgeable with these topics. What if there are students that did not know what pornography was or felt strongly against such a assignment.

During the second part of the podcast Beau asks Peter to break down the meaning of Hebrews 13:4 “Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.”

Sex is good. Really? Does the Bible teach that sex is honorable in the marriage bed?

Defilement was a common word used to discuss those that were ceremonially unclean in the Jewish Torah. Being around dead things, sex, skin problems, blood and many other things left you in the state of being defiled. But why? What was it all about? And why is it eluded to in the New Testament as well. “It is these who have not defiled themselves with women, for fthey are virgins.” Revelation 14:4

Is Gods holiness the answer? Is the defilement laws a practical guide for Israel to stay healthy?

Enjoy!
